TopQ, what's their idea of rough?
Loads of places to visit between London and Anglesey, but I suppose it all depends what floats your boat, and how close you want to get to the big cities. You could swing through Solihull and drive along Lode Lane (although its not very impressive) to see Land Rover, Warwick to see castle, ditto for Ludlow further to the West (www.monstayfarm.co.uk is a reasonable campsite - was there myself last weekend). Plenty more castles as you head into Wales, and if you go via Dolgellau/Barmouth you'll get some great scenery and a trip to the British seaside (I'm not counting Dover) for traditional fish and chips. Porthmadog and a trip on the narrow gauge railway, a drive down the Llanberis Pass (A4086) in the shadow of Snowdon. Surf Snowdonia is now open and there is a zip wire around there too. I'll be heading up early Sunday morning as I'm enjoying creature comforts at my parents' in Shropshire!
TopQ - As for attractions between London and Anglesey - there are millions, Shrewsbury is a pretty town with nice shops, castle, abbey and the river. Chester is almost as nice, cathedral, Roman walls and stuff - also good shops for your girls! Then there's Chirk Castle, Powys Castle, Caernarfon Castle... 2005 110 XS - Cairns Blue "Bertha" - Gone, and sorely missed |

Thank you so far..
Shrewsbury and Llanberis Pass (A4086) are now on my shortlist. Thought also on visiting the Heritage Car Museum on Saturday (visited years ago) but see on Sunday there is a Beemer event (will be buzzy with it on Saturday so probably not a wise option) and LR display just closed. As I want to pick up a car in Herthel on Monday I am able drive through the Peak District (what road to take?). Any drive through ponts on the route? By rough I mean scenery or waterdrive thtough's. Like to camp with a campfire as well. Dont want to make my girls like sissies |

Sorry... lotus Hethel factor
My lotus Exige Cup was upgraded, and for sale.... Didn't sell at the moment. Costs of upgrade didn't justify lower sales price, so I take it back home. |

You could try the A57 Snake Pass, stop off at Bleaklow for a stroll along the Pennine Way to see the wreckage of B29 Super Fortress "Over Exposed", carry on down to Lady Bower Reservoir where they trained the Dambusters. Down the road is Blue John Cavern if you fancy exploring under ground, Chatsworth House for a bit of grandeur, Bakewell to buy a pie and a pudding to figure out which you prefer.
For a more direct route to Norfolk, you might be better dropping across the A50 (Stoke on Trent) where there is just as much along the route to occupy you and the family (The potteries at Stoke/Brewery Tours at Burton/The home of Robin Hood at nottingham forest). Could even go to Alton Towers if you like theme parks but you might find it awfully quiet 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone 2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone 2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW |

Hey guys. Here's a kind of funny story for my first post here...
Last Saturday we got up and, for some reason both thinking it was the 15th, packed up and headed off to Wales. We'd planned on just finding a campsite on arrival and that's what we did. It wasn't actually until we got to Anglesey that we realised we had somehow both mistaken what the date was that day and we were a week early! Anyway we had a nice weekend camping and took the scenic route home on Sunday. Unfortunately I've been unable to get the ok from the other half on camping again this weekend so we're going to be heading up on Sunday morning. Should be there around 9 or 10. |

Any info on early reports I've had about a 110 getting stranded and swapped on the beech? Check out my YouTube channel for green laning and Land Rover "how to" videos.
