Caravan insurance
I have just got a quote via the caravan club to insure my 'new' caravan, but I have nothing to compare is to, so have no idea if it is good, bad or indifferent.

So - where else should I get a quote from?

Caravan Club Insurance is the best. Other insurance can have strange loopholes such as not being insured if you are on a private site such as a CL site that has no security. With caravan insurance you really do need to read the small print. However with the CC insurance everything possible is covered.
Look through the list of discounts on CC insurance and claim any that apply, if you are new to caravanning you will not be able to claim the 35% maximum discount for no claims but the 10% and 20% for item like trackers, alarms, anti-snake device and security such as wheel locks and hitch locks you may be able to and it soon brings the price down For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

As we have our home contents insured with the NFU I took my caravan insurance out with them at a far better price than the caravan club or anyone else. I had no problems at all when I made a claim either.

+1 for the N.F.U.

The caravan Club were charging me well over the odds at £800 per year. Don't make old people mad.

Camping and caravan club - seem reasonable enough but who is to say until you make a claim and then you find out how good/bad/indifferent they are.

Wow, £800, what sort of Caravan do you have. I have a two year old Elddis worth eighteen thousand covered new for old, with £1000.00 contents and a £1000.00 Isabella awning covered as well, excess is £200.00 and the Caravan Club charge me £201.85 a year, that’s with a full no claims protected discount and twenty percent off for alarm and security.

Caravan and Camping Club for ours. Swopped to them a few years ago, when NFU got a bit too expensive (even with the 'mutual' benefit discount).

Not had to claim, but the Club Care staff are always very helpful when you need to ask anything. We have our House and Contents insured with them too - changed 2 years ago as they offered a 180 day away from home scheme, which was perfect when we were on our Australian trip - most policies only cover for up to 30 days. Our blog - http://landytravels.com/

Turns out I have joined the Camping and Caravanning Club not the Caravan Club! Oops. Still seems a pretty good deal at £125 for the year.
