MOT day yesterday - the second one she's had in the UK. Always problems logging on as the 50th isn't listed in the categories. Anyway she flew through with no advisories

Anyone who may be interested tradecarview.com have listed a 50th similar to mine for sale. Please don't be put off importing a vehicle yourself - it is really easy.
If you are tempted I'm happy to offer any advice / reassurance |

New filter and oil at the weekend together with a full tank of super unleaded ready for her journey further north on Thursday.
Couldn't resist taking her out for one last run on a lovely evening. The burble and crackle from the tail pipe has never failed to lift my spirits and make me smile. It has been a real pleasure owning her from start to finish and will be missed. I hope her new owner appreciates her like I do and continues to care for her and preserve for years to come. I wouldn't anticipate ever getting the opportunity to have another project like this but who knows? Would I import again? Definitely! I don't think any of the post 50th special editions have come close in terms of individuality and as for the Japanese spec - a timeless classic Click image to enlarge The last picture taken tonight |

I don't know about you Jeremy but I'm feeling quite sad and it's not even my motor. I just have a passion for the Rover V8. As someone else said it has to be one of the best Defenders on this forum. Defender 90XS SW

Hi Alan, she's going to an enthusiast and I'll just have to attend our meetings in the DC (the weather can please itself then) until another project turns up

Without doubt the best Defender I've ever seen. I hope you look after her Dan, that's where we would fail, it would need to be my 'daily' and it would be ruined in a month.
I know it's yours to do what the hell you want to do to it, but please keep it as is Jeremy, next project??? |

Resurrecting a very old thread but those who know me well enough already know why.
Once I had gone through the process of importing I was contacted to ask about the process and subsequently this person who has since become a good friend made a purchase from Japan. His vehicle turned up at Liverpool a couple of months after mine and due to his personal circumstances has remained untouched and unregistered for 7 years. It's quite a bitter sweet story but I've now been asked if I'd like this project to help us both with our own circumstances. I couldn't say no. In the next few weeks I'll be going to collect. It's coming home. I'll be starting a completely new thread starting from collection day, assessment and commencing of sympathetic refurbishment to finish. Watch this space. |

It doesn't seem like over 5 years ago that I picked the original Beast up from you, here she is enjoying the sun a few weeks ago at the top of Weardale. I will watch your new project with interest, I've got another white Defender arriving soon to keep the Beast company
