Defender 2.2
If you run a defender 2.2 out of fuel, will it self prime like a 300tdi.

Page 63 of the owners manual. If reduced power mode has been activated you have to fill up and follow the procedure for restart

Oh right Laughing I think the best procedure with the tdci is not to run out of fuel in the first place but if it goes into limp mode you have to refill, put foot on foot brake, and crank for 5 seconds. Then you have to drive up to 3 miles for vehicle to sort itself out.

So not a disaster but prob best avoided...

Hi,
Following the manual, we should never go out of fuel .
It did append nearly with mine , fortunately just at time at the station.

We did well go out of fuel with the Ford Transit of the company, same engine.
The gay of the recover company who did not read the manual ad 5 Liter of fuel and it start again.

Phil current : defender 110 sw 2.2 puma 2012 and 230.000km today and
again my Range Rover VM2.5 engine from 1992 and 528.000km today.

One ten 1988 to 1992
1987 BMW GS80
One Ten from 1984 to 1987
One Ten from 1983 to 1984
Serie 3 109 from 1980 to 1983
from 1974 Jeep CJ3B and CJ6
