2011 Defender 110 Puma 2.4 USW Stornoway Grey
they have them on LR HS WW (Wolf waterproof winterised) variants and they work well, ideal if in a snowy environment. i didn't detect any loss in heater ability. i personally wouldnt bother with them in the Uk though. Cheers

That is the millitary cover...... not many have them now as most have snorkels

It is designed so that splashed water/ mud can't enter the intake.

Another thing on the heater inlet cover... they are used in hot climates to stop sand ingress when you have sand storms.

P.S. I WANT ONE!!

Thanks, but not sure if they do the job. Need to be higher. Mi idea i like the winter type shwn on these pages but longer up to the front end wing and facing forward Cool . We just add a couple of days with 33ēC..... Crying or Very sad

A snorkel top would probably do the job but it´ll look ugly.

All thanks to Mr Bl00dy Ford! Puma 110" SW

I have just come across this one which I must admit even I like (I don't normally like the forward facing ones). Also is in the US so will probably be easier for shipping for you- a lot cheaper than the KBX ones too Smile

I even like their snow one.

Snow Cover (fresh air). I have the one from Blanchard. Works perfectly in Winter and looks cool in summer. If you get a lot of snow (like we do occasionally in Switzerland) a decent snow cover is required in particular if you a Webasto Car-Pre-Heater or similar installed. You don't want to go out in your undies to clean the air intake, do you... Rolling with laughter

What's the purpose of this chunky military engine air intake on the side? does it do any better job than the stock one?

Cheers

Do the winterised versions not have extra heater/rad in the rear crew compartment? So you wouldn't notice a loss in performance.
They must work or the MOD wouldn't buy them or perhaps the salesman was good Rolling with laughter 110 D250 SE HT
