hi both,
i've been today. i always enjoy a day mooching about looking at landy's and talking to people on the club stands and stuff so its hard to be too negative; but, i did find the show itself a bit underwhelming. duckworths have got some show bargains - they had the SVX type recaro's (but i didn't check which exact model) at £2100/pair inc VAT which i thought was pretty good from only a casual knowledge of what these retail at normally. i did notice on some other stands certain "show special" prices discounting from higher than normal retail prices which i think is pretty shabby. not much in the way of overlanding/travelling kit this year. LR have some great series 1 vehicles on their stand. you pays your money and takes your pick... cheers |

Just got back.
Been every year since the very first one 25-years ago (used to stop all week but am now just a day visitor) and I have to say I think it was better than the last few years, seemed to have a bit more atmosphere about it (will never be like the early ones but things change). Spent a bit. Complete set of Optimill door-hinges (REALLY like the external door-handles c/w security lock which are currently in development and will definitely have a set when they are available). Also bought a fuse-box cover from Raptor. Glad I went to keep up the tradition. ONE LIFE, GET IT! |

Went today and having not been before didn't have anything to compare it against, although, I had hoped for more Overland sales. Enjoyed my first time on the off road course and am still smiling.
Now to have a BBQ at home and plan to wash the landy tomorrow |

I went to Billing today, last time I went was in 2008 and probably won't be rushing back again either....
Didn't tick any real box's for me with a strange unorganised mismatching of Club & Trade stands....non of the major suppliers and just God awful Kahn and similar vehicles... Working towards Carry on camping! |

I saw a poor German fellow buying a generator from some real pushy chaps with Irish accents , on Friday they were in a van with jcb transport and delivery service logos on , must of sold a few as the next day same guys were driving around in a different van, to disguise them selfs , poor old German chap had a generator for sale , displayed outside his camp, when I had a look at it , he had well been had,
Why o why did he fall for it , the Germans are well clued up on their tools I thought! |

From the posts here sounds like Billling is a bit 'average'......

Poor show IMO. Went in the view of looking at some roof tents, nothing apart from a low budget one. Lacking in overland stuff generally

I enjoyed it, but didnt manage to buy the bits I wanted. Nice weather though, spent as much time looking at the land rovers in the camping section as those in the show.

I went along on Saturday and it was pretty busy, and it was nice to see some of the vehicles from recent magazines such as CSK's 110 DC with big wheels and red leather interior etc.
I went with a shopping list and managed to get most things, and a few things from the tool sellers which are always handy for the garage. One frustrating thing was I bought a KBX grille set from Flat Dog and when I got home and unpacked it I had 2 left hand headlamp surrounds, both in different finishes! So I have a Java premium grille and surround and one satin surround. Wish I had checked it on the stand. 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |
