Hi all, a looking into getting a genuine roof rack for my defender and had a question about the ladder for the back, do the genuine access ladders fit on with the nas style rear bumpers, im sure id seen somewhere saying they dont but have since then seen a picture showing the two together. any help would be great

Mine hasn't got the light guard bit but mounts the same and is A-ok

In the LR online brochure it says not compatible with the rear step bumper .......... even though it seems to show it fitted with one?? http://accessories.landrover.com/gb/en/def...ss-ladder/

I love the look of the expedition Rachel but after owning 3 and each one rusting within 3 years, I had to buy something better. Went for a Hannibal instead. 1951 80" S1 2.0

Another genuine expedition rack question...
After 900 miles, the front doors on Mrs Doublea's adventure are catching the mounting brackets. What are the options re fixing and how easy is this? My guesses : 1. Take off and refit the brackets. 2. Slacken the door hinges and adjust door position 3. Warranty job. I think the rack must have moved, I can't see how the doors could have gone up. I don't really want to put it into the local dealer as it's a hassle and it'll probably come back scratched or something. The genuine/G4 ladder attaches to the rack at the top and then half way down on the rear body. It has a l shaped step that sits again on the body above where a nap step would attach. Bearmach sell one for around £160 I think. I'm looking to get that as my current ladder blocks the number plate and reverse light.

Firstly to echo the other comments on this thread, don't buy a Land Rover rack if you actually want to use it to put stuff on, they're overpriced crap.
But if you do still want to buy one, I've got one for sale  |

I agree. Best looking and genuine over all the alternatives. Marine ply cut to right size, painted, truckler spray to top, stainless p-clips and you've got yourself a long lasting base to attach things onto!
