I have the one's from Flatdog that you mentioned and I couldn't be happier almost have the price of other and apparently on par with jw speaker evo's and a tad brighter than the trucklites. A huge improvement over stock anyway.
Note the post from BuckBlu110 on my build thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic36737-60.html Cheers, Ant |

Ant,
Thanks for that, liked reading your post about Lamington, been there many times, I 'lived' on Straddie for a while when I was younger. Are your Angel Eyes linked to sidelights or an ignition on feed? Were they easy to do? 2016 D4 HSE 1998 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF 1982 Series 3 SWB Petrol |

Yes! Cracking lights for the money, got them on the mrs' 90 and certainly give the speaker evo's I've got on my 110 a run for their money! Not necessarily better, as they both have pros and cons, but for the money, they are good so far and we've had them for around ten months. I've got some photos of a comparison between these on the mrs' 90, trucklites on my old mans 110 and the speakers on mine, I'll try and get them posted up one of the days. |

Was quite the trip mate Can't wait to head to Straddie when the weather warms up too! Yes the DRL angel eyes are lined to the side indicators for power. I got these for a super easy install http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/products/electri...-loom.html |

As a comparison
Truck-lite LED headlights Integral Sidelight/Position light EU approved IP69K (This is the newest IP rating that was created specifically for vehicles that require regular high pressure cleaning e.g. 4x4s, quarry vehicles, dump-trucks etc) 9v-33v Multi-volt *12.8v, 1.80a (low beam), 3.60 amps (high beam) 1,300 Lumens Flatdog LED + Angel Eye Headlamps 7" - RHD Pair Fits: Series, Defender , RRC These LED headlamps have many benefits and features over your existing standard headlamps. Made from tough polycarbonate lens and aluminium housing these headlights are not going to shatter like traditional headlamps and leak water. An output of 28W on low beam, and 50W on high means these lights are bright and powerful allowing you to see what's ahead. Benefits: Legal - E Marked Fully water proof giving longevity. Black inner bowl - a great aesthetic look! Includes built in angel eye/ sidelight option with an easy wiring configuration. E Marked Approved Technical Information Rated Voltage DC 12/24V Low Beam Input Current 1.5A @ 12V High Beam Input Current 1.5A @ 12V Halo Input Current 0.35A @ 12V LED Initial Flux (min) 1000LM (low beam) LED Initial Flux (min) 1000LM (High beam) Trucklite and Noldens are the only LED headlights I am aware of that have the highest IP rating of 69K What is the actual IP rating of the Flatdog lights? I know that Peter has sold a lot of the Trucklites at £250 inc. VAT and delivery so if you want one at that price better get in fast. Normal price of Trucklites is £400- £450 Brendan |

About to tackle the headlights on new Defender 110SW.
Reading through the thread is very helpful but hasn't left me any the wiser whether to go Trucklite or Flatdog. Also have the option of TerraFirma GDL015 - Duo-Lux 7 inch Headlights. Any suggestions, including ease of fitting and best prices would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance |

From my experience it doesn't really matter which brand you go for as the increased light output of them all is highly impressive, they are all plug and play with the same mounting arrangement as original....As long as whichever brand you buy of the lights have the highest IP rating of IP69K. IP rating to me as a Marine Engineer is the most important factor and the fact that finding condensation in your expensive lights is one of the most disheartening experiences.
If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! Last edited by K9F on 29th Sep 2015 4:51pm. Edited 1 time in total |
