Just thought I would share this with you.
One of my hard drives became corrupted today at work and though I should have backed the drive up before I went on Holiday I forgot (we all do it, forget to back up). Anyway the drive was unreadable and as there were files that I desperately needed I was left in a bit of a panic. However, a colleague suggested I use a programme called Recover my Files by Get Data Ltd http://www.recovermyfiles.com/ What brilliant piece of software is took fifteen minutes for the Programme to scan the corrupted drive and it then displayed all the files on the drive in a tree. Even files I had deleted months ago. All I had to do was highlight the folders I required, mouse click the save button and the programme transferred all the files from the corrupt drive to my ‘C’ drive. On opening the files not one was damaged in any way and all files opened perfectly, what a brilliant piece of software. I have used other file recovery software in the past and never had much luck, but, GetData software is the dog’s whatsits. So if your Hard drive goes belly up consider using this. Good to know about a product but this also shows that the data is still there.
20 years ago, in another job I had a private detective come to me to buy something to wipe his hard drive as he was switching laptops. I went in the back and came back with a 10lb lump hammer and a can of lighter fluid and told him even that wasn't guaranteed New project and it's green: www.projectoverland.info |
