United Kingdom 2015 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Santorini Black
Started the headlamp wiring upgrade. Going for a custom wiring plan in order to incorporate the relays and also bespoke supply for driving lamps. All in one new wiring loom. Running new flexible conduit from the drivers seat box to the front o/s wing area. Also started to felt line the glove box after recently fitting the MSS kit Thumbs Up 2015 90 XS Santorini Black

Finally got around to spraying the primed Wolf wheels I bought from Duckworths. Had been quoted £80 per wheel for 2k painting locally and took the advice on here not to get powder coated. So bought a gun for my compressor and used Paragon paints. Two coats of grey primer, then three coats of Limestone Cream.
First spray painting I've done for forty years....well pleased with the result.

word of advice when painting wheels ( if you want it Whistle )

when paint has hardened off for a few days , lay the wheel flat on the floor/bench face up , get a small brush and brush some waxoyl in to the crack where the outer rim meets the centre part , use a hair dryer to melt wax into the crack and round the welds , this is the part that always rusts first as it very hard to get paint down in the crack without getting too much round the crack and running etc

Thanks munch90, good tip Thumbs Up advice always appreciated, although I worked hard at it I could see penetration to the bottom of the join was lightweight. Seem to remember someone on here (with modulars?) Running a clear silicone bead round?

Personally i would wax rust proof , if there is a gap in the silicone it will hold water in there , or water get in from the back

Great idea! Where did you get the under cubby box? Is it waterproof?

Kris

It's the Nakatanenga under cubby box http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic17431.html

I bolted it to the panel underneath so water can only get in by wading to above seat box height.

Pics of underneath:

Fitted 2 new presents (from me to the Landy Wink ) - variable intermittent relay for the wipers, and guards for the rear lights...

I know they're probably 90% cosmetic, but I like them!
