Maybe the SVX wouldn't start and there were no branches about to 'Give it a damn good thrashing' so they just decide to shoot it instead!
If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!! Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |

DS, so how did it end?
Did the police say "we are so sorry for your wasted bullet" to the guy with the loaded gun in his open landy freely accessible to every John Doe (or in this case Jane Doe), or did it end in a different way? I understand Swiss law does not allow you to drive around with loaded trigger ready military weapons mounted in your car, and potential legal actions can be quite severe for such offense.... No idea how it ended; we left about 3 (as soon as we could get the truck out of the line). The guy with the loaded rifle on display was a soldier which m.ay or may not have anything to do with anything

DeeEss,
Glad that you and your wife, or anyone else for that matter were not on the other side of the Hunter strolling or admiring one or the other vehicles when the lady decided to pull the trigger. As Eric states, carrying a loaded gun in a car is illegal. Art 28 LArm states specifically that "during transport of arms, arms and munitions must be separated." it also states that in conserving an arm, it should not be accessible to third parties." As a hunter myself and in addition having told my son that very morning, who wanted to get a closer look, not to go near the gun, I am sensitive to the fact that both parties, acted irresponsibly. Putting your finger on the trigger of a gun, only happens when you are ready to shoot and you have a clearly defined target. Placing a loaded gun in a publicly accessible place is beyond comprehension. |

Found a first youtube movie about the event. This one here is only about the off-road capabilities demonstration. Good luck with the Schweizer Deutsch which is spoken here.
If movies about other event sections will still appear, will add. Eric You never actually own a Defender. For those who want to see more pictures of this great event, they are all on the website www.defender.ch now
The site is in German or French language only, but just click on the black square which reads Farewell Party 4. July 2915 Impressionen, and then you have three more tabs with 1. a picture of each of the Landies taken upon arrival to the event, 2. general pictures of the event, 3. aereal pictures of the 240 Landies making up the Union Flag and the Swiss Flag. Apparently totally 650 Landies, Series 1 through current Defenders, were present, and 2000 participants in total. With this dedicated website www.defender.ch the Landy gets immortalized forever, printed in stone. Well done Emil Frey Eric Here is our event arrival picture downloaded from www.defender.ch Click image to enlarge You never actually own a Defender.
