Thank you DeeEss,
Fantastic - looking forward to the final version. As mentioned by both you and Eric, a nice surprise to see the two flags side by side. Eric, if Land Rover do a big bang for the Defender in the UK - you up for a drive |

Yup, I would be up for a drive then, but it would have to be really "A Bigger Bang"..... ..... at least as big a bang as the one below which I also attended. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Nidge, in 8 years from now, no doubt we all will be heading to official gatherings like this one for Land Rover's 75th birthday. And our Defenders will be part of the classics scene there. I think JLR have all the interest in keeping the memories of the Landy alive, as these boxy trucks represent the real essence of their reputation and identity. Eric You never actually own a Defender. Forgot to mention, all participants received a nice welcome package at the event. A book with the history of the Landy, a metal commemorative plate, and a leather key chain stamped 67 years Land Rover.

I hope LR puts on a big bang - It would be great to do a trip to the UK and put in a few additional stops.
It would be difficult to do a bigger bang, I really feel like we were spoiled, with the diversity of the bands, the historical presence, the activities - there was something for everyone. |

What to do with the placard? Haven't decided if I want it on the truck yet.

I already have a old style plate on my truck, so keeping this one unused as a souvenir. You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

That looks a great farewell event, I just hope there is something as good here in the UK.
Thanks Eric for taking the time to post the pictures and write the report. A sad day, but worthy of the classic car...😢 Cheers Simon |

At present unless someone gives me a great idea or there is a farewell event club that is started my goes into a memorabilia box.
Attached a few more pics complementing previous posts including the Ox on a spit and the gun that shot two defenders. Unfortunately my son was told to stop taking pics before he could get the 90 SVX in which the bullet finally stopped. What a BRILLIANT event. Thanks for the images Eric. As far as the "Welcome Package" is concerned, I've just "gotta have one"! So, Eric, was there evidence on your package of any "Swiss Domicile", or did it look to be a "Generic" World Wide item? I did note the domicile on the badge, but maybe these could be produced with various words according to the location? Once again, an event not to be missed,...your Dealer Network are to be congratulated. Top Job. Pickles. |

DeeEss, Ox was delicious with a fantastic sauce, glad I was not standing behind the grill though. I was wearing a beige polo but believe I saw you and you wife - I recall the purple polo. If I remember correctly, you were standing a bit behind the younger policeman while the older one was taking close up pictures of the gun.
