PILKINGTON GLASS
There I was minding my own business and a new neighbour came round as I was polishing the L/R.
He was an ex Director of Pilkington Glass and saw that L/R had put lots of the glass in the wrong way round, never really noticed before......any wiz kids on here who worked for L/R know the answer?
Was it that they had a glut of too many nearside glasses or offside glasses Laughing

It maybe because they use the same glass on both side, it's cheaper to reverse the window than have it specially printed and etched.. ... ,-------,

I managed and fitted for a windscreen company for ten years....
All 90 and 110 glass is flat, so it doesn't matter which way it goes in !!
So a 'front drop' glass will fit either side, though they may only label it on one side...so one may be right, the other wrong !!

Now with the new Defenders having a bonded channel, the glass needs be 'side specific'..
I'd elaborate more, but I'm trying eat Mr. Green

Pilkington staff strike over pay dispute
Who knows how lean the production is and whether this will delay deliveries?

or maybe there will be some very special final limited editions with no windscreens... Laughing

If your brand new pride and joy is delivered from JLR without a windscreen due to the Pilkington strike I'm happy to sell you an aero screen and a pair of goggles so at least you can still enjoy your Land Rover motoring experience! Reminds me of the early seventies when British Leyland were churning out cars with missing parts due to industrial unrest. Happy days.

Just don't try my recent dumb trick. I thought I could get away with not putting on the roof racks and squeezed my wife's paddle board inside my 110. It just fit. Well it did the first time. Second time I shut the door it pushed it forward and smashed the front windscreen. Annoying thing was the insurance replaced the screen at no cost but I realised afterwards it is a Chinese version. Not sure how good it will be but I am sure not nearly as good as the original.
