I believe that today June 12 was the last day one could register for this July 4 event. Think pretty soon those who have registered will start receiving the full program and all details in the post. Below link provides some more about the timing and the days activities that I found on the Swiss JLR importer website. It is D-day minus 6. As I will not have time later this week, spent quite a few hours this morning detailing the SVX to make it look at its best for the July 04. event. More of a job than I expected this time, the usual car wash followed by towel drying ,windows and vacuuming, but I did not realise that more than a month after the truck has gone thru a full Dinitrol reapplication, soft Dinitrol would still be gushing out of all panel seams upto the windows height, out of the rear light holes, out of about everywhere it can come out of.
So there was more than just cleaning everything inside/outside this time, including engine bay, wheels, tires, etc. but this time I also had to wipe off leaked Dinitrol from all over the truck. In the end, all done, happy with the result, needed to be done anyway. Ready to store the truck for the week next to kitoper's Hunter. While I will be gone this week, kitoper can check the SVX condition and try to do better. Then saturday morning, the Hunter and the SVX will drive in a little convoy to Safenwil for what promises to be a hot event, and I mean that literally too, because we have a heatwave in the making here with the Geneva forecast for next week creeping further up from the current 30°C to Friday and saturday a forecasted 37°C. My PEL500110 and my Entreq intercooler will start having a function it looks like. Todays event preparations.... Click image to enlarge All done, including the visible Dinitrol removed,,,,,, No doubt if it gets 37°C next week, more of that stuff will start flowing... Are you using the gallery on the forum..?
If so, check you have space left. The default space is quite small an I've seen some funny errors when you have no space left. cheers simon |

It seems there are no images at all in Wolfi's Gallery... So I think it 's something to do with the uploading procedure rather than enough space left. Try uploading in the post rather than direct to your gallery.
Had planned to visit the event, but due to circumstances had to leave it. As Eric highlighted - great event - Land Rover Switzerland and Emil Frey went out of their way with music, off-road track, food stands and clubs. Examples of Landys through history were present from the HUE 166 and the Dukes Landy UKE 80 to Her Majesties vehicles from 1954 and 1983.
Plus in the Classic car center a few other British greats from the early Jags and Astons to the Triumphs and Morris' Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

It was an amazing event as kitoper said, for me the biggest highlight was to see the hundreds and hundreds of Series 1 thru 2015 model year Defenders all parked up in a organized way and which shows that kitoper and myself are not really from outer space in how we cherish our vehicles.
Switzerland has quite a large number of real Series/Defender fans and all of them, old and new alike, keep their vehicles in a fantastic condition. It was also an eye opener that 99% of these Classic Land Rover fans are in the germanic part of Switzerland, cannot remember to have seen other GE licence plates at the event than the Hunter and the SVX. I have downloaded a huge number of pictures of the event onto my laptop, but with the current extreme heatwave (daily temps at 35°C or higher, 38°C right now), do not really feel like sitting here too long in front of this screen, but will post some interesting pictures a bit later. Last comment, yesterday afternoon when the temp was generally hovering around 37-39°C, we had a 240 km drive back to Geneva, and the SVX did very well at a solid 120kmh for most of that. Temp gauge parked just below the middle as normal, not sure if my PEL 500110 and Entreq intercooler helped to keep engine running temps a bit down compared to standard, but I had no overheating problems for sure. And, when making an intermediate stop at a highway gas station store to buy more bottles of water I could hear that my standard cooling fan still works very well. More with pictures later...
