This place was really nice - stayed with a group of friends. Nice English couple own and run it.
Lovely area, nice and peaceful, great food in the village of Trémolat and good vino over at a little known place called Pécharmant - the Chateau Tiregand is particularly pleasant. |

Are you wanting gites or campsite?
We have lived in the Dordogne for the last 12 years. So know quite a few of each. Do you have an idea of where in the Dordogne. So that I can narrow down the options. Marc |

We don't want camping but anything else is being considered. I'd like to be close to or in a town or village that we could walk to if we were self catering. Last time we were in dordogne was 6 years ago and we had to cut short the stay. If we could get somewhere central in relation to places to go and things to keep the kids happy that would be good. We stayed just outside Sarlat last time so that's my only reference point hence why I'm looking for some advice. We are probably looking at around two weeks in the area. There are places still available but it's always nice to have the experience of people who have stayed there. Thanks for you help. |

Hi columbus,
Some clients of mine advertise on here; http://www.french-country-cottages.co.uk/d...amp;page=4 There seems to be lots to choose from. As BP said, the area in and around Brantome is very nice, also happens to be where we are. Further South,in the Dordogne valley itself, places worth having a look at include,Rocomadour, which is close to Padirac,Sarlat,as you already know,Beynac,Castelnaud, domme, Les Roque Gageac & Les Eyzies,Lots of chateaus and the like. Bergerac & Perigueux are great places to visit for shops & both have lovely old towns. Further North you can follw the route taken by Richard the Lionheart,on his conquests. http://www.routerichardcoeurdelion.com/ You can click the tab to get it all in English. If there is anything specific you need to know, just ask. Marc |

Without wanting to pry too much, do you or your clients be involved in property sales as well as lettings? We are looking to purchase and possibly around this area and contacts would be great. |
