feeling very lost & empty this morning! A close friend went out for a summers evening ride on his motorbike and lost his life last night. Hit by a pheasant, broke his neck.
Can't imagine what his family is going through. Enjoy the warm weather guys, but please be safe My 109 thread my youtube channel |

Sincerest condolences to you on the unexpected loss of your good friend!
I don't think I have ever heard of anything like that circumstance before, what a complete tragedy for you and, of course, his nearest and dearest. You must think of all the good and happy times you got to share with him... Rog... The GREEN One... MY2016 Urban Truck Build Thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic40548....al[/color] |

Crumbs
But even if riding sensibly, within the limits and you get smacked in the face by a pheasant....... Last summer there was a couple in a convertible, minding their own business, enjoying the drive. Coming the other way was a family in a VW camper, surfboards on the roof, end of a holiday, minding their own business. The VW was in a collision with another car, no fault of theirs. The force of the impact broke a surfboard loose from it's fasteners and sent it across the road into the path of the open top couples car. I will leave you to work the rest out, but that was a 3 person fatal and all the people that lost their lives were completely blameless. Life can be a bit of a git sometimes. Sorry to hear your news, very sad indeed.
I lost a mate a few years ago, plus I've had a fair few misses myself, mainly racing bikes on tracks. I was racing at Cadwell Park once - a rabbit ran across in front us, I was in a pack of 4, the guy at the front didn't see it, the one behind him spotted it and took his eye off the track for a split second, went straight on into the barrier, broke his leg and an arm, the rabbit escaped ok. Just give the family some space but let them know you're there if they need anything. There's no knowing when your numbers up. |

Projectblue - as a campervan owner, I'd not heard about that incident - do you have a link anywhere so I can let fellow owners know to secure their boards better? 2015 Urban Truck 90XS in Havana

Thanks for the link, TJ101. Looks like it was a Peugeot 206 and not a campervan, but tragic all the same.
