I've just translated and read that article There's an interesting quote from the Production Manager Greg Nibblet: " "But now there are so many orders before that we will probably build a few cars in January." |

How do you work out the sequence number from the VIN? The last 6 digits on my VIN are higher than this one. Do they just roll up to 999999 and then start again? |

Which is interesting, but I suppose that there must be a certain number of ROW spec cars for overseas rolling off the line at the moment, which could presumably be postponed and EU-spec vehicles produced instead. |

Hi TomekW
Thank you for your post. Whilst we have recorded and 'numbered' the 2,000,000th Defender for heritage purposes, I must advise that we are unable to provide information on the build sequence or number in relation to any other vehicle. All of our vehicles are identified with a unique chassis number which relates to a certain build date, however aside from this there is no additional information that we would be able to provide. Regards Ryan |

Hi Ryan,
So would I be correct in reading what you posted is that the car was "numbered" the 2m. but it is not actually that and that LR only made it up for marketing and publicity reasons? Do LR have a complete heritage data base of all cars they have ever produced? Thanks CR |

Hi CR
To confirm, the Defender in question has been identified as the 2,000,000th Defender vehicle to be produced and has been numbered as such. However, I would be unable to provide the complete build sequence of each of the previous vehicles as this is a service that we do not offer. Should you wish to obtain information or documentation regarding your vehicle, you may wish to contact the Heritage Motor Centre using the following link http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/ Regards Ryan |

Hi Ryan,
thanks for information. Pretty much as expected But maybe you should consider to offer this kind of service on commercial basis? Best, TomekW |

Ryan
The official JLR press release makes reference to " completing a schedule of public appearances throughout the rest of the year" - can you let us know where and when we will be able to see it? Thanks. |

Looking forward to seeing 2m Land Rover at Burghley Horse Trials. I assume as usual they will have a hospitality area with free refreshments for LanD Rover owners so don't forget to take your Land Rover key or fob to gain entry.
