I was in a slow moving traffic jam once and when I got level with the car next to me, she was breast feeding!

Couldn't stop looking.

... onto that cyclist, who to me sounds like he belongs in the "grumpy old man thread" on here. Laughing You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Oh well, maybe not the safest thing to do, but boy...
Someone must be very bored in life to make these kind of movies to put on youtube for the world to see.

Having been involved with a fair few of those sorts of cases my experience is that it is usually the cyclist (but not always) who is at fault.

Having been a cyclist who commuted across the infamous Elephant & Castle roundabout for over a year I'm still amazed by some of the risks people (made of squishy flesh and snappy bone) take against lorries and vans (made of big heavy unyielding metal).

Frankly in a number of cases it's simple Darwinism - if you think you can safely undertake a multi-tonne articulated lorry in his blind spot when he's been indicating for a good minute and a half then you get what you deserve.

It won't kill you to wait...

In the interests of balance, HGV drivers who don't bother to get extra mirrors fitted are just asking for trouble too. But the vast majority I spoke to when I used to deal with this stuff in court were totally honest about their terror of hitting a cyclist because it would end their careers, but at the same time - if they were moving and clipped one they wouldn't necessarily even feel it.

Many moons ago I endo'd a motorbike into the back of a quarry lorry. Big dent in my lid, broke the top fairing, screen, front fairing frame. Lorry didn't notice and drove off.

Partly my fault as I was overtaking a long line of traffic and braked hard behind the lorry, the lorry at the same was on a hill and rolled back a good 10-15 metres to try and give a bit more room to an extra wide tractor, so the accumulation of the 2 movements ended up with me getting a face full of lorry. Fortunately he didn't come back any further!

Followed by car drivers who just went around me and drove off. Just shows that lorries feel very little if anything and should be given extra care. The car bit was a general grumble! Laughing

It's very easy when driving something heavy to squish something and not notice. I've accidentally run over the front of a car that parked directly behind me in a blind spot when reversing a fully loaded tractor and trailer.

It was a moronic place to park tbh.

The most amazing thing I've ever seen was when I was waiting for my kid, outside the school, and this lorry came along and the lorry driver was making love to a tasty girl on the front seat. I was astonished, especially when he pulled out to avoid a child.
