I'll have another go at loading the photos onto here but if that fails I've managed to get them into my photo album.
should be picking up my new 110 on Saturday however if you all tell me the panel fit is unacceptable I'll ask them to sort it before I collect. the other thing is can it easily be adusted without the need for surgery I mean paint work, welder, rivets etc is it a case of loosening a few bolts / clamps etc and aligning it a bit better? everything else from the quick look I've had seems ok one thing I would add is the roof gulleys now appear to have a nice thick finish of sealant and paint (give it a few days when it starts to crack etc I might have a different opinion |

phew.
i thought it was probably a simple fix. I've not collected it yet - should be Saturday however my only concern is the muppets might make things worse so I'll probably take as is and sort myself when I get the time - unless you (AndrewS) or someone else recommends othewise? |

The upper part of the body side panel is fixed to the lower via a couple of adjustable fixings, I'm sure that they will have done this alteration a few times.
Its not correct so point this out to the sales person, explain that you are disappointed and concerned that if they cant even get the body aligned correctly what else have they not bothered with. I know its a "defender" and they ain't the best for panel flatness but come on they should at least have made a better job than that. Play on it a bit and you should get a few freebs 130's have feeling's as well you know |

Seems like the newer ones have more alignment issues than the older ones. There must be no pride in the work force. It's a shame for such an icon. Puma 110 SW

Personally I wouldn't worry about it until you get it and then only if there's a problem. Mine was fine and I've no reason for complaint so far... (speaking too soon! ) |

although I've not collected it the photos are of 'mine' to be collected tomorrow. but I'm thinking I'll ask them to hang onto it until they've improved the fit. I don't expect it all to be 100% but I'd have expected better that this.

I hadn't grasped that those photos are from you new Defender! Yes, that doesn't look good, what's it doing sitting on some waste ground too, what sort of dealer are they? I'd get them to correct that before you part with your money, or at least keep a retainer back until they do. I'd expect nothing less than 99.999% correct for the price we pay for these... |

not only have they fixed it. they've made a damn fine job of it. picked it up earlier today. ok they've not managed to 'find' rubber mats for the back but then they've charged me less for the car than expected! I have to say the car 'seems' perfect (well for a defender anyway). n/s side light wasn't working but turns out it was simply a case of the bulb having falled out. and my first thoughts are the exhaust heat shield is loose so need to look into that. |
