Looking good in my eyes.
Liking the look of those headlamps. Tell me more..... Is that also an LED strip light under the grill I see? |

I've now noticed the lights in that non standard bumper too. Come on stop hiding your lights under a LR bush and tell us more????

The headlights are Nolden LED. They are a world apart from the standard 1candle brightness. I'm sure the other LED ones are also, I like the look of these.
The DRL lights in the bumper came with the bumper from Flat Dog, who I have to say are a great bunch to deal with. They also supplied and fitted the led side lights and indicators. |

Forgot... The led light bar was bought from a guy on here. £90 if remember.
Amazing amount of light, both spot and flood combined. Not to be stated at while testing! |

I believe that hole was for the old bonnet release mechanism which was a rod which poked out that hole you tugged on and pop - up came the bonnet. On very very early defenders though and possibly some military ones but don't quote me on that. There were a few at the Dunsfold collection last weekend which had the rod sticking out ![]() Thankfully they have now made it a bit more secure......A bit more.. Thanks for the great idea Chiversn
![]() I've just done mine as you can see below, I went for the bare ally under black to try to break up the blackness on the front. I fixed the mesh (from Halfords) behind the opening rather than sandwiched between grille and "nose" to avoid the small gap that would result. Quite pleased with it really and it should help to keep some of the cr@p out of the rad/intercooler/aircon ![]() ![]() Click image to enlarge |

Clive - that looks seriously smart on a silver bodied truck too.
![]() My first job involved driving from Southampton to Wick in a 300TDI (twice) The experience of 3000 miles in a Defender has never left me (for many reasons!) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Thanks to you for the inspiration
![]() The other thing I like about it is it helps to hide all the gubbins behind the grille ![]() |

That mod really does look smart and transforms the front of the truck.
Off to Halfords/B&Q (and other leading high street stores.....) after a brew! Also an excuse to give the area a darn good clean. After another brew. ![]() Cheers Will |

Didn't even get chance for the kettle to boil!
![]() If I said it was a 5 minute job/mod I'd be exaggerating. What a disproportionately positive impact compared to the time involved. ![]() Maybe we should have a "5 minute mod" thread for things like this. I thought swapping my tail/stop lamps for RDX LEDs was unbelievably quick with a massive impact (10 mins). But this is up there with that mod. If I was wearing a hat, I'd take it off to you all. ![]() Now for that brew. ![]() |
