M90,
I've suggested stuff in the past which others have thought ridiculous....... Well this time I'm thinking it's ridiculous but hoping you're gonna tell it's normal...... I put one of them aux outlets in the back wired off that 'spare' wire behind the speaker trim piece. And for a long time now I've used it for my sub woofer as a temp installation? Unplugged it tonight and things seemed immediately better.....could it be? Could it by chance have any impact on the rear brake lights / ecm / clutch switch??? The aux outlet was the sole + and - for the sub. And was a poor connection at the as the sub isn't secured? Will test for the next few days? |

in a word no.
I presume pulling the sub out of the aux outlet wouldn't be a problem? and disconnecting / reconnecting the switch on the side of the transfer box was while the ignition was off so again I'm assuming this wouldn't have been a problem either? to my mind there's a poor connection / earth fault or similar relating to the clutch switch and / or the hi-lo for the revs to have done what they did last night? I'm more inclined to think it's the hi-lo as it might explain the problem in the past where I've pulled off the drive first thing in the morning at it's felt like the throttle pedal has died - perhaps it was jumping into the low response mode associated with selecting lo range? also the sensation of loosing power while cruising at a steady speed - my automatic reaction being to remove foot from accelerator and re-apply (seems to fix it) - hmmm that make me wonder it could be the accelerator potentiometer - but that wouldn't explain the tick over speed not increasing in hi - lo? so back to the hi-lo switch and clutch switch or power feeds to them? |
