Limp mode / Ultragauge
I have the following situation today, just after starting the engine:

Tachometer dead
Temperature gauge goes immediately to maximum
Battery charging illuminated (other gauges show the battery charging normally)

Drove few miles, realising I am in limp mode. Quick look at Ultragauge - it was trying constantly to connect (scanning), while it should be on.

I have checked all the fuses and only after disconnecting Ultragauge the engine started normally. After re-connecting Ultragauge it scanned the port and started normally. Re-stared engine worked normally.

Is that possible for a ODBII scanner to send "wrong" signals that may cause such failure or shall I look for the reasons beyond Ultragauge? In few weeks I leave overland to China and back - knowing the cause will help me to keep peace of mind.

Cheers! Janusz

Seems to be not fully clipped connector to the instruments clusters.
Clipped and fixed.

Thanks for the hints Thumbs Up Janusz
