United Kingdom 2013 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS DCPU Keswick Green
Only done it once but it was fantastic - there's definitely a knack to getting the most out of it, and if you can go with an old hand you should not miss out on much.

There's some fantastic toys come out for the event:

Pit access on practise days is amazing:

Dawn on race day is a pretty special time:

Coming back to your car to see what's parked next to it was always a surprise:

Bump into all sorts of petrolheads:

Drinking alcohol continuously is taken to another level:

Drifting on the roundabouts:

After more than 24 hours, it does take it's toll:

and somewhere inbetween there's some racing to watch!

If you are any sort of petrolhead, then it has to be done at least once in your life.

England 2005 Defender 90 Td5 XS CSW Bonatti Grey
Go for the week; it's a week long party.
Scrutineering starts on Monday afternoon in the middle of the city.
Qualifying at Arnage is fantastic, especially after dark.
Sitting in the grandstands opposite the pits at 4am during the race has a magical feeling. It's almost as if the race is put on 'just for you'.

Just had the defender cleaned and changed the wheels on the Sankey for the trip. Will be driving down early Wednesday morning.

Camping at Chateau Chanteloup, about 20 mins outside Le Mans. Will post some photo's when the stickers go on this evening.

Bit of a shocking photo as the heavens opened mid snickering, but got it all done. ===================================

Wow what a great weekend Cool Drove down in the D4 on Thursday, traffic was ok until we got to Le Mans, when it was very busy with lots of roadworks.

Stayed on Blue Nord (Sud?) I can't remember which one, but it was the bigger of the 2 Blue sites.

The race was very entertaining, and we managed to get around all viewing areas over the 24 hours. We did sneak off to sleep for about 4 hrs in the middle of the night.

They says there was about 250000 people there, mainly Brits.

The journey there and back was like a car show on the move! Loads of exotica, and Land Rovers!

The only downside was the way the camp site degenerated over the weekend, culminating in a drunk/drugged Censored in a Dodge Charger, complete with a Captain America helmet, demolishing the gazebo next door to where we were camping, whilst he was trying to stop after attempting some donuts! Luckily there was nobody inside. Then on Sunday night the bonfires started. If it wasn't occupied or nailed down, it was on the fire! Including some gas canisters!

Anyway, I'd go again, but might avoid the 'festival' style campsites and find somewhere a bit more sensible. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV
