Just out of interest why would you want to make a 200 worse by putting bits of 300 on it

I'm sure you can. In fact I'm really sure you can. I looked at this a few years back when I thought I'd knacked the head on my 200. But it's a little bit involved. Cant remember the exact reasons why, it's been a fair few years. But in the end I found a 300 auto combo and fitted that. 110 D250 SE HT

I am pretty sure the injectors are smaller and at a different angle so you will need these and the pipes to connect it to a 200tdi block. You will also need all the rocker assembly and rocker cover; I also think the valves are a slightly different size, you will also have to replace the piston heads to suit the 300tdi injectors, you may also need a 300tdi manifold as I think they are different to the 200TDI manifolds as well.
So while it is possible it is an involved job, my recommendation providing the e200Tdi head is not too far gone is to have it remanufactured by Turners or similar. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

I am really not up to make it worse
But the head is gone - and pretty hard to find a good one - especially in Denmark. I will look a bit further Into it. Regards Christian 88 Ser. 3 1980 -sold Puma 130 - 08- sold 90 200tdi 1991 - sold 88 Ser. 3 1977 200 TDI 110 CC 2003 |

I do know that a manifold 300 gasket will fit a 200. Not much help in the scheme of things. When my 200 let's go I will fit a 300 parts are hard to find. Took three weeks to find a turbo. Best of luck CRJ

The 200 Tdi head has injectors at a different angle to suit the swirl pots in the pistons which are different.
If you put a 300Tdi head on a 200Tdi the spray pattern will be off because the injectors are subtly different and it will destroy the pistons as they will ether smash the injector head or burn due to the angle not quite being right. It will not run happily (if it does run) due to not all the fuel being used efficiently and no amount of tuneing will fix it. The pipework is different and the pressures are different. Its very very very similar, but fundamentally different. Yes it will bolt straight on, but it wont work. In order to get it to work you need to change pistons, injector pipework, injector pump- by which time you could have bought a new 300Tdi and fitted. Have you considered sending your head to turners to re-manufacture? http://turner-engineering.co.uk/html/cylinderheads.html They know there stuff! I think I will drop the idea of using 300 head - and take a closer look at Turner engineering - maybe the head is reusable. Or else I will get back to Fatboy Slim
