I'd actually like the lady drive the 130, but she refuses as she finds it too big. Actually, she even wants to trade the Forester for a smaller Fiat 500.
I'm horrified by the thought needing to drive around in it for a day...

I should also add that my Son In Law would LOVE to drive it, He's a car nut like me, he has a 360V8 powered '87 Jeep Grand Wagoneer that He's restored.,
He reads all the Landrover magazines after I've read 'em, so yes, He's right into Defenders, and He'd LOVE to drive it, but He hasn't even sat in it,....so why is this?
.....Well He's just over 6'8" tall, & He is a VERY BIG guy, (not fat, just big,...I would NOT want him to Whack me!!),......and, ......He simply can't get into the front compartments!!

Not if I can help it... :(
I am THE World's worst passenger in any car, let alone my own, absolutely hate the thought of not being behind the wheel when travelling in a motor vehicle... Evil or Very Mad

And I have serious panic attacks at the thought of service engineers driving it when I am not in it... Shocked

I reset the mileometer (and make a note of the mileage) every time to ensure any additional distance is minimal... Rolling Eyes

Worst ever for me is the ghost mileage, commonly referred to as 'Delivery Miles' that seriously does my head in - who was driving it, why, how was it driven, where did they go, was it wet, did it get dirtyand, oh, it is now a second hand motor if it has more than double figure mileage... Big Cry

Sad but true... Whistle
 Rog... Mr. Green
The GREEN One...

Trying to resist writing something wildly inappropriate Whistle Tell someone you love them today because life is short.
But shout it at them in German because life is also terrifying and confusing...

They all are for the work the Land Rover and the wife. She has a better job than me.

I actually really like giving people the chance to drive a new defender.

No one else has ever driven my defenders but the wife is threatening to drive the new 90 when it comes.
I reckon she'll have a go and hate it Laughing

All 3 of OUR Defenders,2,90's & 110,both me and Mrs S drive,I have to say she drives them very well,I have no problem with her driving some of the less severe stages in the challenge 90.
In fact she puts a lot of the male club members to shame when we are out laneing with them.
I'm very lucky that my wifey has the same Landy passion as I do.

It would be good if the gf would drive it but she's a little intimidated by it's size and what appears to be heavy steering and agricultural gears.

Maybe an auto box and a silky smooth 3 litre V6 in the replacement will change her mind. She had a drive in a Jackal and loved that!

The only other person I let drive my Defenders other than myself are the people who repair or service them, and even then I am not happy. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

My wife regularly and happily drives mine. She has even admitted to giving a Defender wave! My father (300tdi) and father in law (proud owner of a 1948 series 1) have also both had the odd drive.

I was thinking the other day I won't be lending it to anyone else though. Can't afford to when you can't get a replacement.

My missus is " side track.com''. I ask for help with something and she stops on the way a few times even if I am struggling with things that distract her. This is why I dont like her driving my car...

Cafe Latte - that's known as a"Ooh squirrel" moment in our house. The dog does it for real in the woods but the gf can do it just about anywhere there's a retail opportunity!

the wife drives it most of the time. I have a Seat Mii for work. Now and again I'm in the passenger seat when she drives. Clunk, clank, clonk. It drives me crazy. I seem to be able to change gear without the clonks. I've given up moaning about it
