Series One Club international rally June 26-28 Ashbourne


"DOZENS of historic Land Rovers are due to descend on Ashbourne this month as part of an owners' club's international rally.

The Land Rover Series One Club has chosen to hold its big international rally at Ashbourne's Peak Gateway Caravan Park this year and members say the town's central location has led to a surge of interest in the annual event.

Around 250 of the vehicles, which were built between 1948 and 1958, are expected to be at the rally, from Friday, June 26 until Sunday, June 28 with many of them heading out at various points through the weekend for runs to points of interest in the Peak District.

Vehicles expected to attend the event could be travelling in from as far afield as Holland or Belgium and are expected to include former military vehicles as well as Land Rovers used by the fire service."
