Worthwhile replacement parts?
I have a 2008 (2.4) which has tipped 110k this month. I'm planning keep it for quite some years yet and so have been spending to keep it tip top. It's about to go in for a service anyway, but wondered what I should think about replacing at this mileage to keep it as "fresh" as possible?
E.g.
Is time for new suspension / poly bushes?
I've had all the early bubbling / tin worm sorted on the body, but do I go for a full under-seal?
2nd gear is getting "notchy" - is it time think about clutch / gearbox replacement?

There's also a lot of "take off" puma parts around at the moment at good prices and wondered what I should be replacing at 100k mileage with reasonable benefit? shocks & springs? exhaust? calliper's, discs, pads, hoses?

Sorry for the rambling / "as it comes" thoughts, Embarassed but I'm very keen to hear opinion and experience.

Thank you in advance

I guess it depends on your definition of fresh.

I would only fix on fail for most things, with the noteable exception of replacing hard to get to things if they are nearly lifed and you have to get to an adjacent part. As an example if the gearbox is coming out at a high mileage for a repair then look at doing the clutch to save the labour time.

Everything will show signs of wear after a time but don't fall into the trap of replacing early. Main dealer tells me brake pads want changing at they are over half worn - but 40% left will still last me a good while.

Fluids and belts are probably the major items to go over time rather than mileage related.

Thanks for the reply Supacat - the maintenance I fully agree on.
At the moment one of the things I keep looking at is some of the take-off items like suspension and thinking whether at 100k miles it would benefit from fresh suspension at a very reasonable price. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Surely you can't have done 110k miles on the original clutch? Shocked

Sadly with minimal history prior to my ownership (don't ask!), I can't really tell, but I'd imagine not.
It's notchy into 2nd, but not bad otherwise. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
