Mal, congrats with those seats.
![]() I have the original LR seat covers for the Recaros on them. They are a tight fit, but they do fit for sure. Once the covers are on, you do not need to remove them very often as you just fold the seat part of these covers up when you want to access the battery compartment for instance, and when the seat part is back in place, fold the seat cover back over it. I take them off the seats not more than once per year to put some leather feeding compound on the seat sides. Actually be careful when you do not fit the seat covers on the Recaros, as when you get in and out of the truck, invariably a certain body part will slide over the side of the seat. Long term your jeans or other will cause tiny cracks in the leather, which eventually will become real damage. And you don't want that on these Recaros. At the first sight of those little cracks I ordered my seat covers and nothing further happened thereafter. Having used the SVX with LR original seat covers on all 7 seats for years now, I find that the covers actually look good on the truck. Thank you Eric....
![]() I think my covers may be genuine too as they have the same labels as yours and mine are 'genuine SVX seats.' Experience has taught me that on long journeys regularly on a hot days, waterproof covers, a sweaty cleft and the build up of bacteria therein can result in three months off work, a second ar5ehole the size of the Channel Tunnel and a district nurse who looks like a bulldog chewing a wasp ringing on the bell with packing materials and iodine eagerly without sympathy wanting to repack the hole whilst I'm pleading with Caroline my partner NOT to let 'The Bulldog' in the house or anywhere near my backside. ![]() ![]() I'd rather suffer tiny cracks than the emotional turmoil of a gaping hole. Thanks again Eric. I can guarantee my starfish is the cleanest in Dorset always, and whenever and wherever possible to get it out and let it breathe! With the truck covered and regular cleaning and feeding of the leather I'm hoping the seats will last. I only did 2003 miles between MOTs this year and that included a trip to Germany. If usage increases I may fit the drivers side too or look at canvass covers or getting some made by using the waterproof ones as a pattern at the local sailmakers! ![]() ![]() ![]() Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!! |
