Cat D write off not recorded
Having done an online car data and registration check on my accident damaged 110, it's not coming up as a Cat D write off.

I was advised by my insurance company in a telephone call that the vehicle was a Cat D when a final settlement was made in November.

However, i've checked online with different car data and registration companies in November and now, I still get the same result.

I won't wilfully mislead my insurance broker when it comes to reinsuring but what are peoples thoughts? Sandy

HPI probably know even if the government data is not upto date - its actually amazing the amount of information they store and where they get the info. Whistle

there again, you have fixed it and probably to a very high standard, might be better than new

Insurance companies varie as to the length of time they can take to place a vehicle on HPI alert.
if their really good, 3/6 months
if their not upto 12 months.
if I remember correctly there is no time limit set as to how long they have to register the vehicle as a cat C/D with DVLA / HPI
hope that helps

One of my bikes many years ago was a Cat.D but for reasons I can no longer remember, the insurance told me they decided not to mark it as such.

Cant remember the reasons or the legalities etc, but it was never marked and to this date, still isn't.

I know that's not of much help really, but I'm sure there's others that have had similar.
