Have had my TD5 for less than a month and can't work out how the immobiliser is activated / de-activated. My car came with one key and one remote key fob for alarm (no central locking). Have had a second key cut at local cobbler.
What confuses me is that the key does not have a chip in it as just about all modern cars do now.
If you stop the engine and lock the doors with the key, does the immobiliser automatically come on? Or do you have to activate it using the remote key fob? I would have thought you would have to activate it / deactivate it using the key fob but just want to make sure!
The handbook is next to useless on this matter.
Thanks.
