What's the consensus of opinion regarding the above?
Am I best to replace the old steel one with the same or are there real benefits to spending twice the money on an aluminium one? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1989 Defender 90 Toyota Aygo & Honda FR-V |

Have one in my 200 TDI works very well. Also had one in my 300 TDI Disco had no problems with that.

Never had any over heating issues with a standard rad, so why bother with ally? Unless of course you're going somewhere hotter than West Sussex

I have just taken my knackered Britpart plastic and ally radiator off and I am looking for a replacement at the moment. I am struggling to find anything other than the plastic tank version I took off or an expensive alloy one.
There are some aluminium rads on eBay at the moment which are basically Chinese copies of an Allisport rad but at only £130 as opposed to the £475 that Allisport want. I am tempted by the cheaper aluminium ones but I wonder if they are ok. |

if you don't wont a pattern part rad with plastic ends , get a genuine rad and have it re-cored
I had my old 200tdi re-cored and at same time got them to change it to 4 core rather than standard 3 core |

I ordered a regular copper/steel unit off ebay for £66. Should be here in a few days.
