Seems odd to use the German name - if you are celebrating the liberation?

Interesting disclaimer: "During this event, German soldiers are played by actors. We wish to stress that none sympathise with the actions or policies of the Nazi party. " Rolling with laughter

I wonder what they thought would happen if they didn't ake this clear...

Hafenschloss was the name given to the castle during the occupation meaning 'harbour fortress'

There are still a lot of people on the island that lived through the occupation either on the island or evacuated, this means there are still very strong views on the subject.

No definitely not! It has got loads of attention and people talking about it though, unlike the old version that everyone ignored. Even got media attention and as a result free advertising. Job done I'd say!
Thumbs Up

I am a fan of Nile Rodgers, The Sugarhill Gang and Grandmaster Flash though.....quite catchy. Laughing If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

That video is in my opinion rather Censored I had to turn my sound cancelation headphones on about one line in, how can you and the crew stand it every sailing? Or does the duty free make it ok? Whistle

Did you ever actively listen to the old one? After several years for me anything is better especially when it is the only recording available and you're diagnosing PA rack issues or trying to find the root cause of a section of seating going down..

I don't sail as I cannot 'take systems down' for diagnosis during sailings. Effectively shore based. Things have got considerably better for me with the new vessel.....

A. I live in Bournemouth and since we've pulled out of Weymouth I only have an 18 instead of 80 mile commute.
B. The vessel is new, I suffer from mild OCD and don't do dirt very well. The vessel is spotlessly clean and as long as I don't break sweat my white boilersuit can last a shift. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Ah bonus so can you make a tarp for the big hole in the bow to save the car owners having OCD fits about there cars? Laughing

It is a nice vessel and lovely to sail in Thumbs Up

I have spent the last 10 yrs using the old vessels and can say I watched it every time, more for the respect of the crew and the fact when I am giving lessons I expect everyone to pay attention.
