I found out some really interesting and good news from bmw today about the 2.0 turbo engine.. Pm me for more info

spoke to BMW UK and they are not sponsoring a recall, and state there are thousands of these engines without any issue, they went on to say if you have a problem with the chain the dealer can contact BMW UK, so it appears unless it fails or has a clear indication it is about to then they are not very interested. DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,

n47 2.0 diesel fitted to 2007-2011 BMWs has a fault with the cam chain crank sprocket and tensioner, if it fails it is a new engine, cant easily be fixed as BMW put it at the flywheel end of the engine Doh DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS,
