2015 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 HT Santorini Black
I can understand JLR having slightly different specs for overseas markets (AC in Oz being essential), what I am struggling with is the fact that the Australian market can add factory fitted options like the sunroof whereas we here in the UK have been told 'this is what you are getting, take it or leave it!'. Whistle

Can anyone from JLR enlighten us?

I am still not sure that the final UK heritage spec is set in stone, I called JLR customer relations to ask if the alpine/rear windows would be standard fitment on the 90HT and their reply was 'yes, at present they are included on the UK specification but if anything should change you will be notified by your supplying dealer'......

Totally agree Paul - that's why I have asked the question of JLR Customer Services < HERE < on D2, as well as repeatedly requesting a definitive answer from my squealer... Whistle  Rog... Mr. Green

Rog,

You certainly have not pulled any punches with your question to JLR!

I think you may have scared them away though Rolling with laughter

The more I think about the lack of option availability on UK heritages, the more I get annoyed.

I could understand it if all heritages worldwide had a standard spec so they could get them down the production line without any options on them to enable ease of manufacture (which is what I thought was the reasoning when we were originally told that there was one standard spec and that was that) but allowing overseas customers to add options to vehicles on the production line would seem to disprove that theory Shocked

Come on JLR, Explain.......

Well, when one is spending the best part of £30k with a manufacturer/supplier I do believe one has a right to know precisely what one is getting for the money... Twisted Evil

Or is that just too much to ask... Whistle

I have also PM'd Pete @JLR Customer Services, so that he knows there is a query awaiting his response... Whistle

I really don't want to pull the plug yet, because I think I am going to love the colour, but if it was anything else, from any other manufacturer/supplier I would have already gone somewhere else by now - it is an extremely poor show from JLR, especially in this, so-called, year of 'Celebration' ... Well done Rog, that's great news Thumbs Up

As you say, it would be useful if they could let us know what other options will be available to us in the UK?

Holy smokes, if that is all you get for and extra 8K before you start ticking boxes, I'd be leaving it in the sales yard. Each to their own I guess. But 8K adds a lot of stuff to a standard Defender, and once you have run lantana down the side of it, or stoned chipped it, or dinted a body panel it all starts to fade into insignificance. And it's going to leak regardless. But the smell of a new car is nice, just be careful with hype, dealer prices, and what actually deserves warranty and doesn't. Like a tow bar or those low flying side steps. My Defender and travels

@newhue
Not sure where your "extra 8k" is derived from... Question

I think the Heritage range is pretty reasonably priced and, given its LE status, really don't mind the small premium that means I have to add AC & a radio as Options... Thumbs Up

So Rog, a fully optioned 150HP Heritage 90 coming your way,...sounds good to me.

I agree Rog, I am sure your persistent efforts on getting the Heritage you want will pay off not only on delivery but also on a very strong re-sell (should you ever want to!) due to the LE factor.

Factory fitted air-con and Radio, even as a UK model, will always be a good return on investment.

Umm, isn't the 150HP spec only on the Autobiography and Adventure, not on the Heritage? Nick

My understanding is that the 150HP engine is fitted to all of the 90s, but not the 110.

Sadly, I don't think that's right . . . I wish it was. If you look at the UK dealer briefing doc and the PDF brochure, they both only refer to power upgrades in the Adventure and Autobiography editions:

The Heritage Edition, available in 90 Hard Top, 90 Station Wagon and 110 Station Wagon form,
is inspired by early Land Rover models and mixes nostalgic design cues with modern comfort. It
will be identified by distinctive unique Grasmere Green paintwork and a contrasting Alaska White
roof. A heritage grille and HUE 166 graphics, recalling the registration plate of the first ever preproduction
Land Rover nicknamed ‘Huey’, also identify the Heritage model. Production will be
limited to 400 in the UK.

The exciting new Adventure Edition is aimed at Land Rover customers who relish the great
outdoors and embrace the Defender’s ‘go anywhere, do anything’ attitude. It comes fitted with
additional underbody protection and Goodyear MT/R tyres to boost the Defender’s already classleading
all-terrain capability along with an Expedition roof rack, snorkel and rear access ladder.
Optional Phoenix Orange paint ensures the Adventure Edition stands out from the Defender
crowd. 90 and 110 Station Wagon variants will be available, and all 90 SW variants will feature a
power upgrade from 122ps to 150ps. Production will be limited to 600 in the UK.

The Autobiography Edition provides more comfort, equipment and luxury than ever before.
Limited to only 80 vehicles in the UK, all in iconic 90 Station Wagon form, this will be the most
collectable Defender of all. The hand finished Windsor leather interior, deep pile carpet mats,
aluminium design details and a choice of unique Autobiography paint finishes make this the most
desirable Defender ever produced. To complete the picture, every Autobiography Edition will also
feature the power upgrade from 122ps to 150ps.

Bummer, my mistake.
I'm still going to try to find out if I can get the 150HP "bits" to install in Gracie.
