Sounds great!! Just played that in the supermarket car park, and it surprised me by coming through the stereo!!
Got some looks for listening to engine noise, mind u !!! Same set up evolving here - got decat and straight mid box, and Serck big intercooler, next after MoT is trip up to IRB for remap & VNT!! I still can't bring myself to sell my V8 90 yet as it sounds amazing with side exit sports exhaust, but the Td5 is the best engine for me!! |

Love that sound does the decat down pipe and no mid box not affect the MOT? |

Mine just passed with decat, mid box straight through and standard tail section.
I have been advised to run a couple of tanks with mineral 2-stroke per year, helps clear out the injectors etc, then the standard detergents in forecourt diesel will be able to maintain that the rest of the time. My smoke count was well within the test max, and there isn't really much else they test diesels on emissions wise… If they're being REALLY picky they can insist on checking the presence (but interestingly not function) of a cat… It will never fail for noise, it's a diesel!! (It's just a subjective "too noisy?" test for this a.f.a.i.k.) Just done a few hundred miles with centre silencer delete, it's not too noisy at all, but as you hear from the videos, it sounds goooooood!!! Thing I noticed most driving it is the turbo whistle, but outside (or between buildings / in tunnels etc…!) it is really crisp under acceleration. And I'm in a rag-top, so no real good insulation but at least no booming reverb… 😏 |
