Skye is a great place,
Make sure you go to, Glenbrittle, nice beach with the Cullins behind you, Dunvagan castle to see the seal colony. Also drive past it and along the coast to find the White coral beaches. Amazing just like the carribean. Tailisker distillery and have a wee dram for me 👍 Not sure if I would be having a go at this though ???? Amazing video which gives you an idea of the fantastic cullin ridge Enjoy |

Yep, spent lots of time on Skye...almost bought a holiday home there a few years back
This is worth a visit: http://www.steininn.co.uk/ worth a wee glance in here whilst you're there http://www.skyeskyns.co.uk/ Also the 3 Chimney's restaurant is supposed to be one of the best If you do go down Glen Brittle, one of the bridges has a ford next to it where I "washed" my Disco2 Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |

Another stunning film from one of the most wonderfully, exhileratingly, and refreshingly bonkers people in the world. His abilities take my breath away! There are places in that film I would hesitate to go on foot, let alone on a bike. I love the way he crosses the stock fence near the end! An inspiring film; thank you for posting the link! |

Having climbed on much of the ridge, including the inaccessible pinnacle show in the still image to the you tube link i agree that the bloke is both brilliant and bonkers at the same time

So back from an ace week on Skye. Weather was great - no rain at all.
We stayed in a cottage in Glenbrittle right at the foot of the Cuillins and 5mins from the beach. PM if you want more details. One of the main reasons for going was due to my youngest daughter being a big fan of Danny. We went to his Dad's Giant Macaskill museum in Dunvegan and saw his tour van and one of his bikes so she was delighted. Saw a few defenders but we were definitely in the minority compared to the VW campervan crowd. Skye was much busier than we had expected. Roads were quiet but all the tourist sites were busy however the scenery is still amazing. We came back by the Glen Elg Ferry which was a great route with interesting roads over the hills. Here are some more pictures: Mountain biking above Glenbrittle: Waterfall above Glenbrittle: View from Portree Beach: View from Sligachan On the Glenbrittle Road: |
