After years of ogling, months of dithering - new 110 ordered | |
I currently have a Freelander 2 that has been excellent. I don't need another car, can't really justify another car but what the hell, you only live once.
As I said to my wife "think of the regrets if we miss the last opportunity to buy a new Defender" predictably she felt less under pressure to add to the Chinese chequers puzzle of wheeled stuff that is my driveway.
Anyway heart won over logic and I managed to bag an existing 110 order in the pipeline with the opportunity to change the spec'. All being well it will be here at the end of May. Excited already
I wanted a black pack, however as reported on many posts, that boat has sailed. I declined the offer to spray bits (inc standard Boost wheels) for £1800 and will tackle that job after delivery. The spec is:
110XS station wagon
Corris Grey with Santorini black roof
Audio upgrade
Privacy glass
Tow bar
Carpet set
Nothing too OTT but no doubt I'll catch the accessories and shiny bits bug after further exposure to the May Defender mags on sale
I plan to sort out a set of Sawtooth wheels, black grille, light surrounds and wheels arches ASAP after delivery and a proper rust proofing job as the first port of call.
Seems mandatory to have a pedal lock and I'll have that to hand as soon as I get the keys.
This is great website and has been invaluable to a newbie buyer - thanks all.
