275/60/18 - Geolanders
Hello

Just wondered if there would be any issue fitting a 275/60/18 tyre, i know it is not the normal size people tend to fit but been offered a good deal on a set of Geolanders?

Would they be too wide for a 8"x18" boost wheel?

There won't be any problem fitting wise, and they will fit the 18 x 8 boosts perfectly. The size is slightly smaller than 265/75/16's (-2.08% rolling circumference) and 235/85/16 (-2.32%) so the difference in speedo will be negligible.
Thumbs Up

I don't know if this is relevant to the size or tread pattern you are looking at Egoold, but my Dad had a 2003 Shogun (apologies for the blasphemy) which came from the factory on 16" Yokohama Geolanders (don't know the exact size, but they were a 16" rim) and they were the worst tyres either of us have ever experienced. He had 3 blow-outs in the space of 2 years with them. They appeared to have pretty soft sidewalls and would noticeably 'balloon' out even with correct pressures. This was the road-biased tread pattern version, don't know what they call it.

After the third blow out he changed to Geolander ATs, which were a lot better. Didn't have any blow-outs with those. When those got worn I convinced him to change to BFG ATs and they saw out the remainder of his ownership.

Is it the Geolander AT you are looking at? Or the road-biased one? 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

I fitted Geolanders ATs to my Disco II and had two fail within a week. After communication with and to the credit of Yokohama (Japan) they agreed to replace all four tyres with any tyre of any manufacturer of my choice. I played it safe and went with BFG.

The correct spelling is Geolandar.

I own a pair of I/T+, they've treated me well up till now, but I'm only 8ks in.
