United Kingdom 2015 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 USW Santorini Black
Bye X Tech, hello new Utility XS
Picked up my new car today. Swapped in my 2.5 year old 110 X-Tech with 50k miles for a new 110 Utility XS in black with dual finish alloys and premium contrast leather seats (tan/black).

It came with black headlining too which I wasn't expecting and which looks and feels fantastic. Much more tactile than the normal headlining.

The seats are fantastic and I like the new Alpine head unit.

Must sort out the steering lock stops, have already had a moment when it didn't turn as well as the previous car Whistle

That looks fab !

The Bowler we just had in for soundproofing and carpet had the same colour seats and they look awesome in the flesh (not as 'bright' as your pictures suggest)

She looks sweet Craig. Have you got any bolt ons planned? I'm going to have to keep a lookout for a different motor now Laughing
Who did you deal with down at Rocar?
Hope to see you rumbling around the valley soon.

Hey up Jez, I went in and had a stinking flu starting. Met Andy Knott and kinda told him I wanted a no Censored discussion and wasn't really in the mood to buy. He did what he needed to with the numbers and found that car. I wasn't sure about the seats and from the brochure I was even less sure but they are fantastic. Much prefer them to red ones I saw on a used motor at Copley. Now it's here I'm loving it.

Mods? Never really modded much before but considerations are
    Sawtooths and 265/75/16 BFG AT
    SVX/X-Tech rear white LED lights
    Security bonnet hinges
    Tracker
Standard size LED sidelights and white indicators
    Nolden or Trucklite headlamps
Front lamp guards fastened securely to try stop the scum removing the LHS light to pinch it

The Bluetooth microphone doesn't work so it needs to go back for that and the fan whistles which is bloody annoying.

It will definitely get some TGE sides and I want to source a rubber mat set for the rear the covers the floor and goes up and on top of the wheel boxes.

Think that is about it. Anyone local who is good at waxoyl or dinitrol or whatever?

Cheers

I didn't think I would but I do like those seats. I couldn't have waved goodbye to an X-Tech, but you have bought a lovely replacement. Nice Work! And yes, get the Saw Tooths!

Looks excellent. Thinking of the same light guards myself actually. Did you have to drill extra holes to fit them? A quick glance at a 15MY bare wing (behind the light surround) only had 2 holes in not the required 4. If so did you use rivnuts? Thanks

Very nice, and those seats are a very good choice with the black exterior.

I will get shouted off the site for this but I fitted the two screws with holes and then put my big belly on the screw driver and screwed the other two in so they self tapped. Voila. Have to say the long guards are a fantastic bit of kit. Very well made.

No shouting from me, a Landy is what the owner wants! Thumbs Up

I cut a huge chunk out of my bulkhead and rear cross members so I wouldn't worry about 4 tiny holes.

Looks like a great truck you have there hope she gives you many happy miles! Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Update. Crap pic but added JATE rings, LED lights front and rear with light guards and my old A-bar.

Walking back to my car in the car park makes me smile Smile
