Yep, the top of the piston nearest the collar.
It sounds extraordinary but this hole in the road was massive and hidden in water so I didn't see it and was about 30mph in speed straight in. The front too a bang but was okay as I think it skimmed mainly over but the rear took a big bash as the whole wheel went in. It was around 2 -3ft wide and must have been about a ft deep. Of course a day or two later it was filled in! But this was on a single carriageway back road hence the water etc. Might try and get a photo later **EDIT** Photo's added: Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge As you can tell there is a big problem there. Luckily I've got an old pair I've put on for a couple of days |

Passed it's MoT with flying colours apart from the usual Defender 'frayed seatbelt' advisory... Wierdly on the rear passenger seat which is hardly used! Tester commented on how clean she was! Pete

looked at getting some rear dirt defenders for the 110 as have the gwyn lewis kit at the front allready.
Price was stupid for 2 bits of plastic so made some out of rubber that do the job fine and cost nothing. |

Fixed a creak coming from the drivers side where the roof meets the windscreen. LR in their wisdom use a self-tapper into a spire clip that can't be replaced without taking the roof off.
Actually I fixed it yesterday too. And made the creak worse. So I fixed it again today... I *may* have just sprayed the darned thing with grease, but I don't tell anyone when I 'mend' things like that... Dave Green Goddess - 1998 Defender 110 300tdi |
