Thought worth starting a new thread about this Swiss event as otherwise it may get lost in the sofar 11 pages of the Goodbye wave to the old Defender thread. Here we go....
Land Rover Switzerland themselves are organizing a big Defender farewell event here on July 4th..... http://defender.ch/fr/ http://defender.ch/fr/celebrate/ http://defender.ch/de/ http://defender.ch/de/celebrate/ I registered of course, waiting for further details to be communicated, but I will have to cross the border into the Switzerdeutsch speaking part of the country, that's for sure. Now, let's hope they live up to their promise of an event with a lot of surprises, but please let those surprises not be that they have a big line up of all their Eewok and DiscoSport models for us to try out. Anybody planning to be in the area here that time of summer, you all can register. Eric You never actually own a Defender. Vincent, yes, at the Emil Frey Classic center in Safenwil. Between Bern and Zurich.
You can read some detail already in below link. I have registered a few weeks ago, and will participate with the SVX. Emil Frey will send further information about the event by e-mail to those who have registered. Why don't you register too. No obligations of course, and you can decide later if you want to come over for that or not, but you will then see how it shapes up through the promised e-mails. Probably will be a nice - Germanic - 4th of July party. Eric http://www.emilfrey.ch/de/muenchenstein/ne...3072767b93 You never actually own a Defender. Imported or local, a Defender is a Defender - so come a long and lets see how many we can get together. We can set a meeting point and pick you up on the way.

I live in Australia but will ask my Swiss friends if they want to take my car down to Safenwil. There are actually a few very interesting Defenders based in Switzerland but I doubt their owners bother to get them out of their sheds.
Here are a few I know of 1 Yellow NAS 90 Softop, David P 1 100" Swiss V8 Auto Army proto owned by H Garage 2 110" Swiss V8 Auto Army proto, one H Garage, one C Garage 1-5 (?) 90 50th's, 1 me, 1 L Garage 1 Green NAS 90 hardtop 1 Green NAS 90 Softtop ..have not seen both green NAS for a very long time 1 90 85 V8 ...as new (around 2k 'old) C Garage 1 Camel 90 previous owned by a friend of mine etc... so keep your eyes open! m |

Interesting Land Rovers of all ages all over the Swiss landscape.
Don't have to travel far, for instance this one living close to me... Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge But often they are well hidden by farmers as this one here (not same as above) which I spotted again close to our house. Click image to enlarge Or this beauty, hidden even closer to our house. Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I think the Safenwil event may turn out to be quite interesting with some unknown collectors items showing up. Eric You never actually own a Defender. Well, so I registered too. I like the idea of short summer trip to Die Sweiz, but wether I actually can come over depends on other factors (work ). Would be fun though to meet so many Land Rover fans... ^^ Right you are. I just have sent an e-mail to the Swiss JLR importer giving them a piece of my mind about their communication skills, and asking them for info after their now almost 2 month old promise to keep us informed about the event details. Copied my dealer too. We will see said the blind man.
