Thougt I would post these pictures of the shelf I installed in the back of my USW, gives a few ideas for pep's on storage space.
We went away recently and managed to storage up there a G4 Kyham tent, 2 sleeping bags in compression sack, 3 pillows, an empty day sack and my camera case for my SLR, so it looks small but it does a really good job for normally wasted space Last edited by TACK on 17th Sep 2010 5:41pm. Ali Angle iron, ali 2mm sheet, riveted togther then line the existing bolts which hold the top part of the cab to the middle part for you holes, mark, drill through the angle iron. Bolt up. I made spacers to so the shelf can be lowerd too if I want
Do you want me to make you one? |

Al the internal side panels would have to come off for the same shelf to fit as no other way to get to the fixings. I would use mine as the template (means you will get the better one) but in my short ownership of a def2 I have realised not every one of them is the same and thus I would need to check the dims of the spacing between the top bolts
Does the ladder for your roof tent get stored in the def2 as I could make the brakets like mine to house the ladder under the shelf out of the way, works well as the ladder it tends to be the first thing out and last thing to put away. If you see in my pic's there is foam strips stuck to the underside of the shelf, this stops the ladder from rattling against the shelf if there is movement Steve no probs, beer tokens openly received |

Again, just for ideas, made a glove box on the passenger side a few months ago and just got round to taling some pics would apear Entreq copied me
I rasied the hight of my cubby box again months ago, but i then raised the seat with mud rails, so i was back to square one again with the height, could not find a leather pad on the market to use so..... went up some more, used the same plastic as i did for the glove box to tidy it up at bit Click image to enlarge |

I thought of that when i took it off for something.
The SVX has a neat pouch under there that got me thinking. What did it take to do? Mike |

you must remove the polystyrene foam, cut the long plastic hump and screw the top panel on the new hinges plate. Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition IID Pro MV License Last edited by dgardel on 18th Sep 2010 1:53pm. Edited 2 times in total |
