That's sad news loved his writing style and his quotes

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry

If cats looked like frogs we'd realize what nasty, cruel little Censored they are. Style. That's what people remember.

DON'T THINK OF IT AS DYING, said Death. JUST THINK OF IT AS LEAVING EARLY TO AVOID THE RUSH

I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it

And what would humans be without love?"
RARE, said Death

RIP Terry Heaven is going to be a much more humorous place now For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

I've never got on with either his style of writing or his themes, what I do admire and have the utmost respect for is his humour and honesty about his illness , a great man in my view for his humility
Rest well

One of my wife's favourite authors, she has the whole discworld series in the book shelves at home. I watched the program with Tony Robinson that he did as a mini lecture a few years back when he was diagnosed with altzimers his position and thoughts on assisted suicide are completely admirable. The piece on channel 4 news tonight was very good he has been interviewed by John Snow a few times and the put together a very good epitaph.

RIP If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.

He was a lovely chap, we live over the hill from him, he did an awful lot in a wonderful, unassuming way for the local community. He was a committed humanist and paid for the local second smallest church in Britain to be restored!!.. Great sense of humour, sad sad loss..

Cheers. Alex

Oh Dear! Perhaps a petition to far, or maybe Sir Terry would have smiled.

Petition asks Death to bring Sir Terry Pratchett back

I was first introduced to Terry Pratchett by a lad in my class at secondary school mid 90's. Discarded it as another of his weird ideas. Fast forward 10 years and for some reason decided to read the colour of magic. After recovering from the disappointment in myself for having missed out for a decade I've read every disc world book since. I've even introduced SWMBO as well.

Sad day in our household. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone
2002 - Black Discovery II - Gone
2014 - Montalcino Red 110 XS SW

I started with reaper man then went back to the beginning. The wife has all of them though I have yet to get past unseen academicals, dunno why just seems to be taking a long time. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

Mort was my first Disc world book and it took four attempts to read the first chapter but after that I was hooked.

I bought The Colour of Magic when it first appeared in the shops, purely because I liked the cover design.
One of the best decisions I ever made.

Over 25, 000 signatures on the petition to bring back Terry Pratchet.

I think that I will have to read the Disc world series all over again.
