Twisted/UrbanTruck
Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and thought you might be able to offer me some insight into the differences between these two companies and their individual models? I'm particularly interested as to why Twisted seem so much more expensive then UrbanTruck? Thanks

Why not save yourself how ever many thousand quid and bolt your own bits on?

Standard black XS utility, picked it up new from the main dealer and a couple of hours spent bolting bits on.
Job done.

Can't really see the point in spending a fortune getting someone else to do it for you unless you want to start ripping the interior out and sticking leather everywhere....

Camelman - good point but each to his own. I wanted one already professionally done and I could afford one - that was my choice I guess but I can understand people who go down the other route. 2015 Urban Truck 90XS in Havana

No Probs, walmsleys, not meant to be a criticism of you.
I get a new truck every 12 months, standard XS spec from the dealer with no extras, keep my expensive goodies and swap them over each time, takes 3 or 4 hours. At the end of the year, put the original wheels, grilles etc etc back on and off it goes Smile

As Camelman says if you had the time to go around each company and find the cheapest or best product and fit yourself it would be much cheaper. But as with all products in life, some people like to buy from trusted companies such as Twisted to do the hard work and gain a good residual value and often warranties with any work carried etc.

In my opinion only: Twisted offer more and better products and are more expensive. Urban Truck copied Twisted and use cheaper products and charge much less. I am sure both have happy customers.

Twisted have been going since the early 2000's I think? Urban Truck started 2013 but because of their prices and similar appearance seem to be doing well. Many other companies doing similar products as well.

Everyone will have different opinions Thumbs Up

Walmsey truck looks great can I ask if they are the 18 inch sawtooths and what tyres are you running, is it standard ride height.

I have 16 inch sawtooths with 235/85 MT rubber and its a bit balloon like for me as I don't go offroad! Ideally want to change to the above setup so interested in your spec.

Thanks

A good deal of that is XS standard anyway. If you go through life with your head in the sand....all people will see is an ar5e!!

Treat every day as if it is your last....one day you will be right!!

Great Truck you have there Walmsley. Fantastic colour (my favourite) with some tasteful upgrades

For your records the Urban Truck standard uplift from XS spec is as follows :

90SW with Design Pack

· Black Pack Style or KBX front Grill
· KBX Top and Side Vents
· NAS Rear Step with Tow Ball
· Privacy Glass to Rear Cabin
· Body painted Wing Mirrors
· Urban Truck Steering Guard
· DEFENDER Gloss Lettering
· 2 x Supercharger LR Badges
· Single DRL to Front Bumper
· Xenon Bulbs
· Crystal Headlight Lenses
· 10 Way Exterior LED Pack
· LED Interior Lighting
· 2" Lowering Springs
· Bilstein B6 Uprated Suspension Kit
· 18" Alloy Wheels
· BFG AT Tyres
· Momo Wheel
· 48SP Steering Boss
· Premium Padded High Top Cubby in Half Leather
· Factory Carpets
· Black Chequer Finish to Side Step Top

The car you purchased also has the following extras :

Havana Premium Paint Upgrade
Colour Coding to front Grill and Light Surround
Colour Coding to KBX Side and Top Vents
18" Sawtooth Alloy Wheels
Twin DRL Bumper
Premium Paint Package to Front Bumper, Side Steps and rear Cross Member

As you can see from the above list, even our base upgrade is pretty comprehensive and it sits very competitively into the market, as does our fully comprehensive Utlimate Edition. There is no expense spared and renound tricky installs like Double Din Dash installs are of an exceptional standard.

In response to some of the other posts.

I think it's fair to respond an I just want to assure our customers we do not use "cheaper/cheap parts" . we have invested considerable money into manufacturing our own products specifically to add something new to the modified Defender market. We manufacture our own grills and vents from the highest quality stainless steel, we own the tooling to manufacture our premium Recess DRL that makes the front of our vehicles completely unique, withround lights rather that rectangular, we have manufactured our own wheels and the manufacturers we partner with are among the best. Bilstein, Dynamat soundproofing (not cheaper alternatives) Alpine, Recaro, Lazer Lamps, JW speaker and our Tuning partner Alive.

Our discount agreement with Land Rover, vehicle allocation, purchasing power with suppliers and debt free position gives us the ability to offer a great product, to an excellent standard at a competive price.

I also believe our honest and flexible approach to customer requirements and lots of positive press has really helped with our success.

Regards
Simon
