didn't 23525355253535252 or whatever start off doing this in his Keswick 110? no money in it so he drives a lorry now i think.
Get some training before you stove the rear quarter in turning round. and you may want to use the standard rims as it'll be cheaper on tyressave those lovely rims for best |

I've had the experience of towing a nearly 3 tonne Land Cruiser and trailer behind the 110....
it was surprisingly settled on the road, but god the brakes and engine just aren't up to it! Ended with a big hill which i ended up going up at about 40mph in 4th gear and it couldn't take much more really. Theres no replacement for displacement i guess, and the defender doesn't really have it. Love your 110 though, its really nice! One of my favourites. Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

I have the +E on my licence and spent many years and thousands of miles towing a 18ft ifor williams twin axle trailer behind a Lwb transit minibus along very narrow mountain roads with inches either side.
Im guessing you will know about the tacho, VOSA and CPC requirements for commercial towing? In my experience a long twin axle trailer and a long vehicle makes for easy reversing if you are a decent driver to start off with! 2011 Santorini Black USW XS. 2015 Discovery 4.5 Black pack Firenze red XS |

Keep us up to date with how you are doing.
My mate did this in Cardiff for a while, lots of car dealerships and for some reason they seem to love moving cars around (supply and demand I suppose) one at a time so he had a lot of work. Over time though more and more crooks with battered old transit transporters were undercutting the professional outfits, even carrying 2 ton vehicles on the back of their transits that could only take 1 ton. They didn't have Tacho's or anything either (being 3.5t gross) so they would do long distance quicker and for much less 'cash' on delivery if you know what I mean!!! As well as dealers and garages the people you really need to appeal to, as I'm sure you know, are the classic car enthusiasts as they gave my mate some work too. Another thing he started doing was towing other peoples trailers if they needed them moved, even some companies would need a trailer taken somewhere and he'd do it. Also people with caravans, sometimes don't have time to take them in for servicing/warranty work so he'd do that also!!! All the best for the future and post some pics of your best cars on the back ![]() Then: 2004 2.5 TD5 90 Hard Top (X-Tech Edition) |
