I've got a Goldfish 9.5 on the TD5. Does the job, bit slow but that is fine for me.
Stripped it down last year for a service and all the internals showed no sign of wear at all On my DC I had a Superwinch Talon 9.5 which was superb. Wish I hadn't sold it with the vehicle Bob 2015 Jaguar XE240 R Sport - goes like ....... !! 2013 Defender 90 CSW - sold 2009 Defender 110 Double Cab - sold 2001 TD5 90 CSW - offroad project - sold to a forum member 2011 Porsche Boxster - for the sunny days ! |

Goldfish. They always work, I don't use mine often these days, and it always works, but used to use it a lot. Far more reliable than my warn was.

I've ran a Goldfish on my disco for the last 5 years, it was used for work and has had some stick, still going strong!
Highly recommend 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

I quite fancy the retro X9 though. Perhaps I need to go back and look at the Goldfish a bit more now. But I can get both the Come Up and the X9 for less than the new Goldfish. 110 D250 SE HT

I did have a G10 on the front but changed it to a new ish 8274 before the rebuild. So it's like new but it's to bulky for the front.
Plus the 90 is tucked up nicely in the garage, ready for when I find the time/inclination to sort it out and sell it. Got a tad damp, but coming up today was more about the social than watching. Might have to have a chat with Mr Bowyer and see what deal can be struck before I fully decide. 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |

We use a Goodwinch on the center of the challenge motor.pulls hard n slow but reliable
X9 if maintained lasts well and pulls ok,better with a bow motor on it One has warranty ..... |

The X9 is still a nice winch and capable of showing up it's newer stable mates, parts are still available and as above with a Bow motor it is a quality item.
The DV 9000 is a EP9's cousin still a capable winch just not as well covered as the more mainstream. The Goldfish has rave reviews and is backed up by the Goodwinch brand and warranty. I can't remember the last time I heard a bad word against them.. But it isn't a Superwinch though. In your position I would go for the X9. |

If you dont use it much then why spend a load of money, look online at the electric winch shop (nothing to do with me)
You can get a radio controlled 12000lb winch for £200.00 I use mine every week and its bang on for the money, I havent stalled it yet even recovering tractors and mini diggers. They also get "dunked" a lot on play days This is the 3rd one I have had in 6yrs, because I keep selling the vehicles they are mounted on and for £200 I cant be @rsed taking them off. A lot of the cheapo winches are direct copies of major brands just with the drum seals taken out. You wont be disappointed 2003 Td5 90 2013 sport hse 2012 700 raptor quad 2012 siromer 4x4 tractor |

The X9 is mates rates and a lot cheaper than £200. Fully serviced with a new motor.
I think I've made my mind up about the winch. Just need to find a decent bumper now for decent money 110 D250 SE HT 110 USW SOLD RRE HSE Dynamic Gone, wife killed it VOLVO XC60 R Dynamic with some toys Polaris RZR 900XP SOLD |
