Think I've found it...
1. Remove the remote control from the key ring and keep it well away from the starter switch while entering the code. 2. Unlock the driver's door using the key, open the door and enter the vehicle. Shut the driver's door. 3. Insert the key in the starter switch, turn and hold the key in position II until the alarm sounds. Then, turn off the starter switch and open and close the driver's door. 4. Turn the starter switch to position II the required number of times to enter the first digit of the code (if the digit is 4, turn the key to position II and then back to position 0 four times). 5. Open and close the driver's door (this will enter the first digit of the code). 6. Turn the starter switch to position II and back to 0 the required number of times to enter the second digit of the code, then open and close the driver's door. 7. Turn the starter switch to position II and back to 0 the required number of times to enter the third digit of the code, then open and close the driver's door. 8. Turn the starter switch to position II and back to 0 the required number of times to enter the fourth digit of the code, then finally, open and close the driver's door one more time. If the code has been entered correctly, the alarm indicator will extinguish, the alarm will stop sounding and the engine can be started. |

if you bought the car new in should have two remotes, at the factory the second one is zip-tied to the wiring harness under the bonnet and in transit quite a few fall off ! 2.4 90 XS

The four digit number is more likely to be the key number which is different from the key access code. Your dealer should be able to look up your access code on their computer.

Looks like my second fob has gone walkies! Definately not under the bonnet, so going to nip back to the dealers later and sort one out. And also see how much it is to get another fob and key sorted to replace the missing one!
But yeah, it was the key number on the fob. Had to go to the dealers with the V5 to get the access code. Which although was a blag I guess it's safer than them just giving it out to anyone. |

I can't remember exactly when, but LR stopped supplying 2 fobs. It was a while after Puma launch so I'd guess at 9 or 10my.
Good luck with it, hope the key/fob turns up. James |

Mines an 09 model, and according to the dealer it should have come with two fobs. They're gonna have a look for it, but very much doubt that they'll find it after more than a year, although I have every faith in them
For a replacement key and fob to replace the missing one it worked out around £100 for them both, including reprogramming and all that gubbins. (Half the price my mum was quoted for a replacement key for her Picasso!) |

Looks like I was diddled! Think they'll probably just end up reprogramming a new one. I'm sure if there was just a random fob lying in the workshop it wouldn't have hung around for long.
Still quite annoyed at myself for not actually checking when I picked it up, but I can't exactly convert it into a time machine and go back in time as it won't do 88! |

Manual still talks about 2 fobs - very much doubt they would only put one in.
My 08 has 2 Mike |

Cutting cost delivering only one FOB?
All the cars that I know, included the low price ones (like those new chineses), have 2 FOBs. I dont believe that LR will cut cost from this side. Lets said that the production cost of the FOB is US$20 x 25.000 units = US$500.000/year. Cheers!
