Time for another update. I suspect this one will be a little more controversial...

Well, not the first bit. Last weekend I replaced the dicky DRL and bolted on a pair of the Gwyn Lewis outrigger shields and front mudguards. The truck already had the factory-fitted mudguards, but they left the outriggers and footwells totally exposed and let far too much crap past and onto the bodywork. Fitting was straightforward and enjoyable.

I also made some shields for the back of each DRL, to protect them from the worst thrown up by the front wheels, and sought to weatherproof the wiring connectors.

Now the more divisive content... My new tyres were delivered mid-week so I wasted no time getting them mounted onto my 10" modulars. I took my time bolting them on today in the sunshine and rubbed down and Hammerited the drive flanges, which were beginning to oxidise. Now, I know the look won't appeal to all (/any) of you, but I think it looks fantastic (and that's what counts Razz ). Each tyre has a 200g bag of Magnum Plus dynamic balancing beads inside and, whilst I was only able to wind it up to 60 on the roads near to me, there wasn't any sign of an imbalance.

Now, I'm obviously going to need some flairs for the tub (and I hope to pick AndrewS' and SGH's brains on this point in due course), I also know that the sides of the truck will forever be plastered with filth, that I'll probably need to tweak the front arches for clearance and that the old Wolfs will have to go back on come MOT time, but I'm delighted with it Thumbs Up

Thanks Chaps!

This was the first weekend in a while on which I have not washed the car, so I'll upload some better pictures once I've given it a little attention and had the chance to take it somewhere a little more picturesque...

Blackwolf, the tyres are 305/70 KM2s and the wheels are 16x10 ET-32.

Tom, I'd definitely be interested in hearing about those arches. I do need to get some factory flares on the back pronto, but as the tub is wider than the front end, factory flares *should* be sufficient back there. Oh, and as for making people jealous - you can talk with your excellent soft-top!
