Hi guys
I have what sounds like collapsed bearings (but not the dry sound) coming from the rear drivers side wheel. I have checked the bearings and they are absoulutley fine! It has however eaten through pads. The other side still had at least half left on but ive changed the set. Im not getting any faults show up on the nanocom nor any dash lights. Any one got any clues?? Cheers Wil |

Sounds like the same issue I had if it's what I think you're explaining.
Are you saying that your ABS pump is "arming" under normal driving and you are getting a buzzing noise? Check the level of grease/oil in the swivel housing. Mine was dry enough, but certainly not low, that it was creating friction, this friction was enough to confuse the ABS/TC sensor and the ABS/TC pump was arming and sometimes actuating. I originally thought there was an issue with the diff as it only happened going around corners. This is the sound mine was making; http://www.craigrogers.co.uk/dump/LR/cv/1.mp3 http://www.craigrogers.co.uk/dump/LR/cv/2.mp3 Here's the original post if it helps > http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic19393.html Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |

Unfortunately it doesn't sound like that
the sound stops as soon as you press the clutch in and freewheel / coast. it starts again when you lift off the clutch. its more metallic than the sound you have. its almost similar to when as a kid you'd put a card in the spokes of your bicycle to make it sound like a crosser. (but not as loud) |

Definitely coming from the wheel? What you describe sounds like the Puma Clutch Death Rattle. The springs in the clutch coming loose. Plenty of topics discussing it on here.
Here is one of them > http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30482.html Craig Rogers 2007 Puma 110 XS 2011 Evoque Coupe Dynamic Lux www.craigrogers.photography |
