To answer some other questions:

The ladder is easy to use. There is an additional step at the bottom below the number plate.

Yes, you can get additional legs - just ask Ben at Flatdog.

Yes, there are accessories now and the T-track accepts any regular M8 bolt any way.

I adapted the Thule roof box to bolt straight onto the T-track and also ran all the power for the lights (front and rear) through conduit that fit PERFECTLY in the Rax and rail.

Have checked all fastenings are stainless plus come with plastic caps for the bolts, it will be a happy birthday to me delivery.

I have skipped the ladder in favour of a telescopic one so that I can get access all round du to age and not liking heights.

Jim B.......like the convoluted trunking. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Looks good. Did you go for a ladder in the end? Still need to get round to ordering mine.

Ordered rack, rails and ladder online Monday evening, got a phone call from Flatdog confirming the order today and it's being delivered tomorrow. Brilliant customer service and really looking forward to tomorrow. It's like Christmas Eve but better 😀

Looks like lots of positive feedback for the Flatdog Rax, a couple of years further on are people still happy that they are holding up to use and abuse?

Looking like my first choice to replace a tubular steel one that didn't meet expectations.

Thanks

So far been on 3 camping trips, including a week on the Isle Of Skye, and it's still looks like new. We use 6 large Plano boxes strapped down plus I've adapted a Thule Ranger 90 to sit at the front. I will admit that there's a couple of paint chips on the top surface where my daughters scooter dug in but that's my fault not the build quality.
Yes you do get a bit of wind noise but as everyone else will tell you it's nothing compared to the usual defender thunder.
I haven't noticed a decrease in mpg
Other than that it just looks so goddamn good and I've had numerous comments about what a mean piece of kit it looks.
I also liked the looks of the tubular steel versions but there something to be said about not having to worry the paint blistering and rust taking hold.
One thing to note is that when it rains obviously the gutters don't drain properly so you do get a bit of water dropping over the drivers door.

That said once we've got the last camping trip out of the way it will be coming off over the winter months.

If you have any question please feel free to contact me.

How do you fit 6 large Plano boxes and Thule Ranger?
Got a picture?

I have the large Plano box, excellent bit of kit.

Any ideas / tips on cleaning under the racks? Takes me ages and the hand car wash chaps downright refuse now... there is about an inch and a half of clearance between the roof and the rack... Big Cry

I use a wash mitt, rather than a sponge. Get myself onto the roof and work on it. No easy way I have found yet!

I'll try and upload some pics from my last trip. Basically two rows of three Plano crates at the back. I then dropped 4 M8x25 bolts into the roof rack cross bars that amazingly lined up with the holes in the ranger 90 positioned right at the front. I'd bought 4 M8 nylon hand wheels off eBay and secured the ranger down. Plus there was enough space down the side for two folding chairs and my daughters scooter Laughing
The best bit about having the ranger at the front is being able to stand on the bonnet to load and unload. A hell lot easier than trying to access from the side.
